Alright, let's bin Osman and put Barkley alongside Gibson. I'm sure that he wouldn't go chasing around after the ball and leaving big holes, making rash tackles, getting caught in possession, giving the ball away or freezing. It's not as if it's a position that carries much responsibility.I'm pretty sure that anyone can do it. I can't understand why Moyes didn't think of it.
I know we've got international players like Fellaini and Mirallas who could play off the striker but we should definitely put a lad with 13 appearances there instead. He'll know exactly how to work between the lines, he won't be overly selfish by trying to beat men or shoot when a better option is on and he'll definitely score as many as Fellaini.
Playing Coleman in a less responsible role in midfield to introduce him to the team was a terrible idea and I certainly wouldn't recommend it for Barkley. It would be foolish not to put him straight in the deep end at the expense of a seasoned professional.

As you obviously didn't see the game, have a look at where Ross is playing mate, looks shocking doesn't he like ^^
The second highlighted part of what you say is the exact reason we had Heitenga playing whilst being terrible game after game and costing us points over say Duffy, its exactly what saw Osman playing whilst being a passanger for the majoriity of games after his first England call up instead of getting Barkley more time
Its exactly the same thinking which saw the likes of Neville starting ahead of Gibson in the cup game vs Wigan
Its exactly why
Moyes biggest flaw was developing through young players.
Barkley plays a great game away vs arsenal and is then dropped for a far easier home game and then dropped for a meaningless away game vs Chelsea in favor of Naismith ffs, yeah lad seasoned professionals is the way to go...
As for coleman dont make out that
moyes playing him on the wing was some masterstroke of player development, he had no option this year but to play him at rb this year due to injuries and he made enough mistakes early season that Moyes would have dropped him if their was options, instead he developed by playing his correct position, learned from his mistakes and look at how he came on the rest of the season, if it was you though it would have been hibbert or neville all season long i reckon
