as soon as Everton went out of the FA cup I kind of lost interest, there was an opportunity to do well this year, we didn't turn up and the opposition saw that a return to Wembley this year and to go one step further was shot out the water.

Let me see who's left in this years competition, and take it from there.

Chelsea, Birmingham, Manchester City/Stoke, Reading/WBA, Portsmouth, bolton/Spurs, Notts County/Fulham, Crystal Palace/ Villa.

still a lot to sort out, but I have pretty good instincts and I can see a rather predictable routine in the draw a bit later.

No need for boring feeling of balls with blank 'don't give a fig' expressions, when you know what's going to happen.

Chelsea to be drawn at home against lower league opposition :@:dodgy:, but I'll change one aspect of that.

FA cup 6th round draw (as I see it)

Chelsea vs Portsmouth.

bolton/Spurs vs notts county/Fulham

reading/WBA vs Aston Villa/C Palace

Birmingham vs manchester city/stoke city.

Look at the big names out of that line-up, it does hurt doing this.

Just want to compare with what actually happens later, can't be far out though.

Azuls quicker than the road runner on amphetamines.

I don't know how they do that actually.

Its boring this week w/o us but there have been some decent ties lately. Spurs-Leeds was good, Pompey-Southhampton was decent, so was Palace Villa today.

Its getting ridicilous how Chelsea over the past 3 years have gotten the easiest draws. I'm sure they'll get Portsmouth if Pompey goes under giving them a bye, followed followed by Notts Co and WBA. They get the easiest draws I'm sure Roman bought the FA off just so the competetion doesn't interfere w/ Europe.

I'm getting a sneaking feeling the Brum could win this thing. They could close anyone down and have that knack for getting late goals. I'd also like Joe Hart in any shootout. Would love to see a Brum/Villa Semi or quarterfinal.

I could of been in attendance there today, it's not a million miles away, but in all seriousness there would of been no need to go down.

Can't believe it's been 20 years since Palace were in the FA cup final, they were minutes away from beating Manchester United that day too, before Hughes scored to take it to a replay.

Jim Leighton was kicked out of the replay and the late Les Sealey took over for the replay.

It was let's not forget, that was the trophy that saved Fergusons hide.

sort of like when Heath scored at Oxford that night to turn the tide, so to speak.

To be honest the FA Cup didn't even register with me this weekend, checked the scores at about 12 both nights. Media people can say the cup is magical all they want, but for me it loses a lot when the bigger names drop out very early in the tournament.

Would have been great if we were still in it, but we had a good go at it last year and we'll be at Wembley again before long. Might be easy for me to say, since I wasn't brought up in what must have been the deliriously exciting 1980s (the only Everton I've ever seen first hand was the relegation fodder of the mid to late 90s and the strange, trophyless-yet-oddly-successful-feeling noughties) but it is only a matter of patience. There is a completely different air about the club this season, something big is around the corner for us.

Then again, maybe it's 6am and I'm talking [Poor language removed] :P

By the by, does anybody know what happens if Pompey are wound up? Do their next opposition get a by into the next round, or are Southampton reinstated? If it's the former I'd be absolutely furious as a Southampton fan, since the hearing should have been before their match!
