I just decided to start a Sheffield football related thread for the laugh. But do people prefer Sheffield Wednesday or Sheffield United?I always preferred the owls.A friend of mine who passed away a few years ago was a huge owls fan.I loved that side they had in the early 90's as well.I don't mind the Blades either, but yeah i prefer the blue and white side of the steel city.Sheffield is actually my second favourite British city after Liverpool. It has a reputation i think, for being a dour industrial city, and the knives and forks capital of Europe.lol But really it's a great city. It's better than Leeds anyway!

United always seemed like the proper Sheffield team to me for some reason.

Sheffield isn't better than Leeds though. In any way, shape or form. It's not even close.

Ha the blades and that chip butty song.Bramall Lane is a nice ground. It's a lot closer to the city centre than Hillsborough as well.Speaking of the blades, here is a video of the steel citys most famous blade in action!

Benito Carbine scoring twice against us in the lowest point I can remember. But I'm not overly fussed by t' blades either.

No score draw. Wish neither any harm.

I did enjoy my one visit to Sheffield though. Vimto and vodka- killer combo.

Not a fan of stripes.

However, I go utd on these grounds ....

1. Wednesday were something of a tricky fixture for us in our glory days in the 80s.

2. Utd gave us Jags.

Every year I develop a soft spot for a club in a relegation fight and try to catch a bunch of their matches (PLOT TWIST: this year its Everton!). One year that was Sheff Utd. Their 1-0 win against arsenal was awesome (the day Jags played goal) so I had become a fan of them.

Only ever saw Wednesday a couple times in my life (i even thought they were purple and white and not blue and white) so don't really have anything for or against them.
