I thoroughly enjoyed this show, watched it all over a period of time last year. I was late to the party, but in a way glad I could digest it all in one hit.

Thinking about re-watching it again, it was that good a show.

I got into it a few years back. Just a lesson in TV really. Only Mad Men has come close in recent years, in terms of sheer quality, imo.

The ending was divisive, but I think it was just perfection.

Great show. watched every single episode. The ending to the series was terrible though. makes you think they will make a film of it at some point.

I don't think the ending was terrible at all. It kind of left you wondering what's next. Instead of having an absolute ending. The whole point of the show was that it was the other side of the river, New York has it's famous gangsters - and in all NY based gangster films, there are absolute resolutions, and not much thought is needed post ending.

The Sopranos left you wondering, did they all die or not?

After The Wire you mean? Watching The Wire does ruin TV though. Once you've watched it you realise how bad nearly everything else is, I never actually wacthed Sopranos. I'll have to borrow it and give it a whirl.

You should mate it's quality.

Mad Men, The Wire, Sopranos and The Shield - high on my list of great shows.

It was perfect, because it was like the entire season summed up in a second; the danger, the peril, the balance of family and 'business'. Whether or not he gets shot or not is not the point. The point is the question itself, if that makes sense. It does to me anyway, and that's how I viewed the ending.

I watch so, so, so much TV, but oddly I've never seen the Wire. I'll have to fix that.

God I love the Shield. Michael Chiklis is just immense.

House MD has quality, certainly the sick streak of nasty humour the Sopranos revelled in.
A TV critic swears swears swears by 'Deadwood', besides that, the writers strike and the economic downturn has ended a top flight run of rather good rather watchable TV series. When fiction fails, fact is always there, and so many documentaries hold up even now.
Sopranos, Paulie and Chris, one scene nails it for me, like an Adult version of the Chuckle brothers, lost in the woods in snow, 'pine barrens' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCpUct0DM_Y&feature=related
