that made me laugh out loud for some reason, nice

was he trying to make them think he was just walking out a few extra yards for the next down or something.....i'm not totally with all the rules =)
 
I once took a penalty kick from the touchline (rugby) and as all their players were grouped under the posts I hit it to th far corner where a flying winger collected and scored a try. The aussies used to have a player waiting for any kicks that came back off the sticks, Rod Reddy* springs to mind

well kind of except it was in a junior school rugby match, I'd seen the aussies do it on their '78 tour, coach got sick of me doing it at school tbh but when it worked it was great... the 100 times it didn't ? not so great.
 
I still think he tried to claim the snap line (is it called that? for some reason that sounded good) wasn't in the right place, pretended to walk to where he wanted it, then he's outta here, touchdown Donovan!

If that's not what he did, I have zero idea too bud

Cheers mate, Sounds similar to that Rooney/Giggs corner where Rooney went to take the corner, then put his head down and rolled it forward as Giggs casually strolled up to take it as if to say "eyarr wayne i'll take it", but Giggs just dribbled into the box with the ball and the ref took it back basically saying, "take it properly you bad teds"...

Ha, someone tried that on Sunday morning football a good few years ago. No idea what was going on, thankfully he didnt score. Cheeky and sneaky!
 
Once the ball is snapped from the center, the play is live. What happened was they did it in a way that looked casual as if there was no play. Quite frankly, I know they are kids, but someone on that defense should have known the play was live and the coaches CERTAINLY should have known the play was live and yelled out to tackle him. That's just weird though. Never seen it before they would allow him to walk through with the ball in his hand.

Its middle school, thats why. I guarantee you in the high school level that play wouldnt work at all.
