FAI medical staff say the 18 year old's life was saved as a result of the operation carried out by Gerry McEntee at the Mater Hospital.

Sounds pretty scary.

It's kind of bizarre that another young, Irish player on the verge of the first team should suffer such an apparently innocuous, but very serious injury. I'm thinking of Coleman's career nearly being ended by a blister.
