In general a bad ref can only affect us if we are at least close to the penalty area but once we get 30 yards from goal we manage to go all wobbly by ourselves.

As regards Saturday however, the fact he lives in Manchester, regardless of who he supports, has to put pressure on him. Get it wrong and he has to go back to face the consequences from thousands of Mancs.

....very interesting article on the BBC site about referees and who they support. An ex-referee suggests Everton fans should be concerned that Anthony Taylor is officiating the semi final because he's from Altrincham. They have to declare their allegiance, doesn't appear Taylor has.

Amazed Clattenburg didn't declare the Pool.

....yep, the article covers where they live. North East refs don't cover Newcastle or Sunderland games etc but Taylor appear to officiate both City and United which seems odd.

I did not quite believe it when I saw this. Wiki says he supports Altrincham. So that's ok then because I am sure their fans love us!!! Certainly did not last time we played and John Connolly broke his leg in 1973ish. Had to go to replay. Dirtier side than Leeds!!
