I actually like the monarchy it gives us a bit of our past. Funny how some people view the US in all it's pomp and circumstance I laugh when I hear that. I wonder who they copied it from. Hmm................

i'm a republican so i'd sack the lot of them. although, the model we now have would work well for an elected president as head of state but with no real power, i just don't think it should be a hereditary job.

You're correct, Dennis. To be fair to the queen, she's been very dutiful but there is something a little bit unsettling about the whole "bowing and scraping" culture that comes with hereditary power. Add to that my view that it sticks in the throat to have people like Charles and Harry gifted power, money, titles, false exam results and adoration, and we have a good reason to go support the idea of a republic.
