The Ross Barkley on the Bench FUME THREAD

Does Ross being on the bench mean anything?

Koeman seems to be a bit of a knee-jerker at times - what will Barry offer that justifies dropping Barkley.

Apart from Davies, nobody played to their usual level against Chelsea. Gueye gave away a needless free-kick leading directly to their second goal, but I don't see many criticising his errors.

I hope this doesn't mean anything in terms of his contract.

To be fair to Koeman though, Barkley hasn't exactly been turning on the flair the past few games.

The last two games none of them have been at it.

He's targeted Barkley again.

If I was Barkley I'd remind him that he's won f.a. for over a decade and doesn't have the clout to be swinging that type of decision.

He dropped Barkley earlier in the season though and he came back a better player.

As for targeting him, there's not really anyone else to drop. You could argue that Kev or DCL could be switched with Lookman but every other position has no competition at the moment.

The Dutchman does not like flair players.

I expect Barkley to make the exit out the door this summer along with Deulofeu.

Says it all about this feller.

Del did not defend and thus did not suit this team. He wasn't fit enough either. Barkley has been well under expectations in the last few games. Every manager likes flair players- Sigurdsson, who I'm positive we will get this summer, is a flair player. A flair player can't be only a flair player, and that was Koeman's problem with Del.

I just assumed that Ron has analysed the opposition, how they set up and has deduced that his approach would be better served using alternative personnel.

Can't see him cutting his nose of to spite his face just to make a point to a player.

Freudian slip? Didn't realize you had it out for him

Koeman wont get a player like Sigurdsson. Be assured of that.
