Its always safe to assume @hktoffee @bullybeef and @TheBigIguana have to shoulder a bit of the responsibility for whipping the online fanbase up into a frenzy.

If we had a quality first team , a youngster having a bad game wouldn't be the end of the world.

We don't have a quality first team , this means we need these youngsters to play well . No choice .

We do seem to have a high proportion of "demanding fans".

Depends where you sit. It is a nightmare when you have a big, fat, loud, master tactician near you.

The berating of young players isn’t limited to the middle aged and older I have seen teens piling into youngsters before now. I think sections of our fanbase expect every youngster to be Rooney. We have to buy younger players and develop them. It is our only path forward. That means an attitude adjustment in our fanbase to uplift and encourage after mistakes rather than condemn. That transition might be harder than the task Moyes faces trying to turn the current Everton team into PL winners this season to be honest.

WTF. I haven’t written any youngster off. I just refuse to get carried away or engage in hyperbole unless it’s justified by evidence. I have been overwhelmingly positive about our transfer business (including Barry and Aznou) and our prospects this season.
