Thanks for the news Brian, it's not positive but still thanks. I hope they can work something out, really rate your son and he has a terrific attitude for a young man.

No disrespect to Mr Duffy, but how can we believe this?

Any chance of some proof to the mods via a PM he is who he says he is?

I believe he's kindly given us information regarding his son on several occasions, all of which held true. This Cartesian month ?

Brian can't Shane just get a different agent? If Shane wants to stay and he'd finding his agent is making it difficult for him and Everton then can't he just sack him?

That's what I thought Nike, but they're probably tied to them well-tight...

I can only imagine his dads annoyed at the advice given or the tactics being used which perhaps Shane is maybe happy following despite perhaps having reservations ?

let's face it ultimately the agent works for he player Not he other way around , if a player wants to sign a new deal his agent certainly can't stop him like an estate agent can't make you sell your house against your will.

I don't know, but I would think an agency would seek to maximise the fees for players on their portfolio, and this agent may be behind the Baines to MUFC PR too. Perhaps...

Talking without being specific about any particular player , of course agent's fees could be a stumbling block but the rest of the deal is the players decision albeit acting on advice. the reality is there are almost certainly unscrupulous agents just as their are unscrupulous doctors, solicitors , policemen , football managers and politicians. Every occupation has its good and bad but personally I feel that the 'evil agent' idea came up as a way for football fans to exonerate their beloved players for turning them over, "it wasn't Rooney's fault it was Stretfords" and substitute Rooney for Jeffers , Lescott or perhaps Baines or whoever in the future

Duffy looked solid when he came into our side wasn't found wanting in the premier league at all. The problem is there are three top quality defenders that are more experienced and proven over time, that are ahead of him in the queue just now. I would like to think the lad would sign a long-term contract though as Distin may only have two seasons tops left at his best, meaning Duffy would get a chance at that point and it would save the club for paying a fee for a new centre-half, when we already have one in waiting, i'd agree that he needs spells out on loan though and preferably at a lower Premier league side i.e. Wigan or Swansea, that may help him develop greatly.

Totally agree Shane Duffy is a cracking prospect. He looks similar to Distin, very powerful a lot of finesse.

Be horrendous if we lose Duffy he's living proof if you give the kids a go they CAN do the biz, possibly the most difficult position - centre back - for a kid to come in to and perform.

He didn't put a foot wrong.
