My missus's mum had them on the phone. Pretending to be virgin media. Said she was owed a refund because her broadband had dropped below a certain level over a period of time.

They had her downloading an app on her mobile phone that would allow them to take control of it. Luckily we turned up just in time and sussed it. Was so closer though. She'd logged in to her banking app etc. and they could see what she was doing. I managed somehow to uninstall what they were using despite them also trying to control the phone from their end. Absolute custards the lot of em.
