These simpletons with their monotonous political agenda and determination to change the meaning of words to suit, need some learning so as not to reveal their vast quantities of thick.
In the past the word man referred to man and woman, there was no distinction on gender with that term. Its only because people like that try to redefine words that confusion and angst are spread about it now.

I don't mind, police person or fireperson, there should be no need to distinguish BUT, no mans land is not to be messed with. Hundreds of thousands of young men sent to their deaths demand a little respect in my opinion.

I mind because it's inelegant and clumsy language with unnecessary syllables.
Give it a few years and they'll be rewriting history to suggest that there were loads of women in the trenches, or that horrible repressive men excluded them from there.
