Apparently they wanted him for Rick Moranis' character in Ghostbusters, but he wanted to play it weird, really weird, a flamboyant heavily German character with schnauzer dogs or something. They didn't fancy it and he had his heart set. I'd have put myself through an industrial kiln for a jump on Weaver at the time. We all have our choices and our crosses to bear. His chat about the kid in the mortuary in home alone is excruciating funny.
