Wandered over to Gooners world the other day and there were people defending the club for the treatment of Ozil... that's what you get at big clubs with massive fanbases, you'll always get some idiots defending the hierarchy. Also a bit ashamed Mikel is stuck in the middle of all this. Just a small manager trying to make his way up, and has to deal with incidents like this from higher up. 2. Sell him

I agree with your post in general but I'd imagine they have tried to sell him and he doesn't want to go. At least not for the money he is being paid now. In that case the club are trapped if they don't want to play him or they don't play him so he tries to actively want to move.

It seems players don't actually want to play football anymore. He has been dropped from the national team and he is not even on the bench at his club during his prime years. Seeing how short your career is that is bonkers. Yes no one likes taking a paycut but even if he did go from 350k to say 150k he's not going to be a pauper is he.
