The ozil situation

He earns £34.72 every single minute of the day and I'm not even sure he even has to turn up to work anymore.

Actually feel sorry for the lad,
I'll never blame a footballer for signing a contract,
As I tell customers, if a rival firm offered me silly money to do the same job then course I'd do it...
I'd say arsenal have failed massively with regards to him, when you have an asset, particularly one this expensive you have two options:
1. Get the best out of him
2. Sell him

Wasted talent I think. He's one of those players that needs carrying but any side can only have one of them, the other 10 have to work their socks off.
You can't have two of him in your team or you're knackered.
I thought he needed to pull his finger out but don't blame him for sitting on his contract.
But Arteta see's him in training and obviously doesn't like what he see's.

Wandered over to Gooners world the other day and there were people defending the club for the treatment of Ozil... that's what you get at big clubs with massive fanbases, you'll always get some idiots defending the hierarchy. Also a bit ashamed Mikel is stuck in the middle of all this. Just a small manager trying to make his way up, and has to deal with incidents like this from higher up. I don't believe for a second that Ozil isn't good enough to make a 25 man squad.

Arsenal have done some shocking contract work over the years, no wonder Moshiri wamted to bail with Usmanov hot on his tail

2. Sell him

I agree with your post in general but I'd imagine they have tried to sell him and he doesn't want to go. At least not for the money he is being paid now. In that case the club are trapped if they don't want to play him or they don't play him so he tries to actively want to move.

It seems players don't actually want to play football anymore. He has been dropped from the national team and he is not even on the bench at his club during his prime years. Seeing how short your career is that is bonkers. Yes no one likes taking a paycut but even if he did go from 350k to say 150k he's not going to be a pauper is he.
