we have a high jumper tonight
Listened to the triathlon on the radio but only Just watched brownlee come over the line holding the union flag above his head as a patriot thought that was legendary .. The radio were saying he's only just recovered from an Achilles which is immense & told a story about him running into an old friend whilst fell running , the pair had a chat for 3/4 minutes before about 15 people came over the hill and he said "good to see you but ive got to go I'm in a race" . I think he's brilliant

cos athletics at a comprehensive consists entirely of doing each event of the decathlon once in each school year, being forced to drag your sorry arse round the school 'track', jump into a sand pit that has been used for fag dimps for the previous 12 months, and attempt to do a Fosbury flop all under the guidance of the P.E. Teacher, who is really a Geography Teacher who when at school opted to do Geology as a way out of doing P.E. and has never owned a pair of trabbs in his adult life.

we did have a girls hockey team though and a grass pitch, which someone that has moved around here told me used to make them think it was a posh school when they came to play as kids.

We had Basketball vests 5 sizes too small. We were actually embarrassed to go out on the court they were that bad, and they stunk of 4 generations worth of bad body odor....
Shame really , as we used to smash everyone we played except one school who had two twin brothers who played for England....
