Brazil-Honduras report.
Boss game, full stadium, good atmosphere and two teams who came to play only ruined by a ****hawk german ref who called a fowl for every tackle, didn't understand the advantage rule, and booked players for every single foul no matter how minor.
12 yellows and 2 reds were given and only about two of them were reasonable.
Neymar is a fecking beast like, every time he got the ball he looked dangerous and sometimes it looked like the ball was glued to his feet. I know it's only honduras and a really dodgy defense but he was one of only three players out there who looked better than this game.
The other two were Marcelo who had a storming game from left back, despite the rest of the brazilian defence looking scared of the ball and Roger Espinoza, who's a 25 year old honduras player in the MlS for Kansas who looked awesome. Never stopped running, never stopped tracking players, and finding space, great tackler, great passer, great crosser and created both goals single handedly (the second, which he scored, was a boss solo effort). He was sent off with 3 minutes left to play and got a standing ovation from the crowd and hugs from all the brazlians. I want him in England.
Damião up front looked a handful too, but Hulk and Oscar disapointed and Thiago Silva looked off the pace. Hulk kept dropping to the wing and only really got to use his strength once or twice and his passing was wayward. Oscar had some great moments but he wasn't fast enough and kept holding onto the ball too long until after Honduras got men back.
Great game, though with three great goals. I'm glad I got to watch players as good as Neymar and Marcelo and Honduras can go home proud, a fantastic performance with ten men for most of the game and with a better ref they could have won it.
And Espinoza has replaced Donovan as top of my MLS wish list.
