The Oldies Thread

Didn't Wetherspoons keep it in the window when they first opened up in the building ?.

..not sure, Jonny. I've been in that Wetherspoons a few times over the years but can't remember the rocking horse.

Only seen a few old mares when I've been in there.......

Joking aside I came down on a stag party a couple of years ago and I've never seen a pub rock like in there 11 am on the morning of a big game , it is absolutely mental, we had just arrived in town but there was some sights in there trying to hold each other up.

Bought my first ever Saga product last week.
Travel insurance for the over 50's, I feel like I really belong in this thread now.

Just going to give Saga a quick plug for us oldies.

I was supposed to be on holiday on Tilos for a week, but couldn't get off the island on Wednesday due to the ferry being cancelled because of a bit of wind. The holiday was done as part of a package so missing the flight wasn't a massive problem, the tour operator had to sort that out, but I've contacted Saga and, because it was a missed flight there's no excess ( there would have been an excess if the flight had been delayed ), which means that I can claim for :-

  • The extra car parking charges and
  • Incidental expenses for up to something like £30 / day /person for food and stuff ( so long as you have receipts, which I'd kept )

So, basically the holiday was extended by two days and Saga will be paying for it.

If anyone under 50 has ventured by mistake into this thread, then, tough tittie, you'll have to put up with poor customer service from more mainstream insurers.
