The Oldies Thread

Making the step from a blissful happy primary school were all the teachers were really nice to the first year of comprehensive were it felt like I’d been sent to borstal. Teachers hated the kids and the feeling was mutual. Half of them were conning a living and you’d hope they wouldn’t get away with it these days.
We had a maths teacher for the first 3 years who taught me nothing. He’d just sit and read the bible all lesson while we we sat in total silence. The were loads of these types. Totally failed generations of kids and now they’ve got their feet up on their pensions.
We never had a maths teacher for a whole year in 1970, i was 14, the P.e teacher took us for maths,
Friday was double maths then double P.e.
We played football on the yard all afternoon for the whole year!!

In the same year we had a woodwork teacher called Jock who caned everyone in the class because someone didnt own up to farting and we were all pissing ourselves.
He was walking around the room saying "Who's smellin"
Halcyon days

Not sure if this is the right thread tbh, but.... my mother-in-law has now been here for 3 months!!

My question, what d'yall like to eat?!?!

I cook everyday, vegetarian, spicy, rice, pasta (both brown) blah blah....she eats it but doesn't enjoy it.

Left to her own devices she'd have spag hoops on toast ffs.

What do I do?

Edit, doesn't like cheese, tomatoes, onions, peppers ....
And another idea, soup - I made lettuce soup the other week, yes lettuce soup. It was very tasty, you can bung other veggies in as well. You can substitute a leek for the onions, or just use chopped celery and carrots.

mmmm on a hot day like today, a chilled soup sounds ace - a bit like a gazpacho.

….back in my time, Cliff Woof went there who was a good footballer. Cliff got a pro contract at LFC, actually ended up working in horse racing based in Newmarket. I vaguely remember the footy pitch at Croxteth being behind the school.
Managing Director of Newmarket Racing Club Ltd if you Google him, with a string of companies in the past all appearing to be linked to the sport of kings.
