The Oldies Thread

Is it photo identification or proof of age they need if you haven’t got a passport etc? Will they accept this? You can apply online. I think people have to use it now when voting with no photo identification

Citizen Card. You need to be a UK resident, but they'll accept an EU residence ID card for an online application 🙄

You ARE old. In the body. But not in your mind.

I am 75 in a few months, but in my head I'm still that lunatic 21 year-old gigging 3-4 times a week in the nightclubs of Liverpool.

I'm still researching and writing, so I try to keep my mind as active as possible.

Been married 50 years to 'er indoors. Must have got something right!

53 years for us this year. I totally agree about keeping your mind active which is why have owned a pub for the last 7 years. Obviously my wife’s mind has now gone due to the Alzheimer’s but as I say life is just different now……

Yes I already signed up to Gateway but can't get very far as they ask for the ID.
Think you have reduced the options to:
1 Phoning the Future Pension Centre on 0800 731 0175, or
2 Filling in form BR19 and apply by post
Not always easy dealing with central or local govt, I should know, that's what I used to do!

Cheers, I might ring or I just might wait to see what I get, my Job Adviser has said if I not paid enough in I will get pension credits so no use bothering. I did a pensions forcast by post about 15 years back and it said I was about £45 short so hopefully I've made that up some way in 15 years.

Cheers, don't forget you have to apply for Pension Credit so once you know how much State Pension you are going to receive you can get the ball rolling. Their is also a Pension Credit calculation tool on the www.gov.uk site which can give you an indication of how much you might receive.
