This is really racist, I think, but I can't stop laughing.
Thats when you could find one that was working, most were vandalised repaired then vandalised again it was 50/50 whether they were in use.When I started in my second job in an office I hated answering the phone as I was unable to understand what people were saying.

I remember asking the guy in a sweetshop on County Rd up by the church why, he gave me a convoluted explanation which made no sense at the time...and the bones of which elude me now, due to the passage of years.

I'm a bit too old for those, my era was more Tinger and Tucker and Pinky and PerkyProgramme on R3 tonight about Oliver Postgate, creator of Bagpuss and the Clangers, amongst others.
