The Oldies Thread

We where more resilient then.

I think back to Liverpool in the 1970's, yes we were brassic , the city was crumbling, but it had a unique character.

Town is now like any other city in the UK.
It is still the friendliest city in the UK. I get chatting to random people every time I come over for a match. Everyone is lovely from the moment you step off the plane or the ferry. I loved it in the 70s/80s and still love it now. A few of my kids did their degrees there. They would say the same. It's a city with soul.

Yes you get that when you’re 60 , when you reach state pension age you get a nationwide bus pass. I don’t know if that doubles as your Merseytravel pass.
You sure?
I only got mine at 62, which at that time was in line when women qualified for state pension. They're qualifying age increased gradually to what it is today, 66 yrs of age.

I definitely got mine at age 60, that was eight years ago. Not aware of it changing since, but it certainly could have done I supppose.

Seems when you got yours, that was the case, then they started raising the retirement age for women from sixty.
Unless they have not updated their website, you can still get free Merseytravel age 60
