The Oldies Thread

Anyone on here had a hip/knee replacement ? And if so how long as it lasted?. I had a hip replacement 5 years back because of arthritis, best thing I ever had done as I was in awful pain, walked with a limp and limited to what I could do. Couple of weeks back we had a bus strike in West Mids for a week so had to walk everywhere, over the 5 days I clocked up 98.4 mile, since then I got the awful hip pain and stiffness again, I'm wondering if I wore tge new hip out?
Had my right hip done 15 years ago, fitted with a moody de puy MoM,had to be replaced 5 years later.
Left hip supposed to get done 4 years ago but kids too young to manage it.
Second right one gone bad last 6 months, next appointment in July, expecting to go on the list.
They've got a shelf life of upto 10 years give or take.
Unfortunately I'm a lot older and rheumatoid arthritis is everywhere.
I've stopped barking and chasing cars though 👍

Yes it says average of 15 years they last but that's on the basis of a 67 year old getting it done. If you younger and still working it's gonna get wore out more

Blast from the past, used to pinch one of the flood lights off my brothers kit and put it in my dolls house and pretend it was Sindy's telly.

Mate of mine used to put all the players on sellotape so he could pull the teams on to the pitch together, he had a cassette player playing MOTD theme or crowd noises as he did it.
He was a virgin for a very long time.
