McBain

Player Valuation: £80m
As I was dragging my sorry carcass out of bed and going to work, I spared a thought for the boys in blue playing Man U.

Saw on the Big TV outside Channel 7 we lost 1-0. Can anyone sum up the game? Ill be arsed if I'm trawling through a losing match thread

for the first time in a long time we matched united at old trafford. We played good football at times and were arguably the better team.

Performances of note- fella, baines, cahill, hibbo and the absolutely fantastic jag, what a season he is having.

Funny MOTD didn't seem to show any of that. From what I saw on the highlights, we were defending, not really showing much going forward bar a couple of wasteful free-kicks and a penalty shout.

That for me was the nutshell that I saw. The cynical members of the group may say that was top 4 bias.

Why on earth would any of us think there could be the slightest suggestion of bias toward the top 4.

Spot on, i normally watch "match choice" on Sky were you get at least an hour of the match, but due to the Setanta contract it wasn`t available last night, so i recorded MoTD,what a waste of time that programme was, you would have thought there was only one team playing, they showed nothing of Everton!!
Very lazy effort by Arteta for the penalty though, but the second foul in the box in the second half was more of a Pen, so we can`t complain really .

Competed well for most of the game without having any real cutting edge. Dodgy penalty just before half time wins them the match.

I only saw the first half and while we did compete I wouldn't say we really matched them, or that they were dominant. They did look dangerous whenever they came forward, but we were defending well, with some excellent tackling from Hibbert and Jags in particular. However we did have to be at our best defensively to keep them at bay.

Offensively we had some success down the left flank, getting Baines in behind them a few times, but the final ball was poor generally.

Their movement off the ball and interchange of players is really good, and something that makes them very difficult to play against when the are playing like that, bus we hung with them for the most part.

We didnt match them at all to be fair.

They hit the post and Howard had to make a few brilliant saves before they scored their goal.

We didnt really have a proper shot on target, and whilst we had plenty of good play down the left the final ball was not good enough.

We were in the game for the whole 90mins as it was just 1-0 but we didnt really threaten them at all.

i'd say that sumed it up the best to be fair

i have yet to see a post by ghost following a game where he says he is happy with the performance, in fact he usually starts a few threads immediately after a game that criticise numerous things, and then vanishes again without backing up his views. you cant make a decision from motd, same as on wed. we outplayed arsenal yet tv highlights showed it pretty even , maybe even in their favour. even rarer is a post following a game he has attended, i'm sure mr ross wouldnt have rang you if he'd known that for the most your only contribution to the club is criticism.
