The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Crazy to think we could have stayed up with 22 points. Dyche only needed to have earned 7 more points to have kept us up.
All else being equal yes. But there was also a massive risk that with us dropping to 1 point above the zone, and playing absolutely wretched football, that it could have galvanised one of the teams below. Who knows what could have happened had he stayed.

You know when it was him or Frank and everyone went crazy for Lampard, were we wrong? Should we have gone for Victor?
No. He spent like £40m on 2 defenders in January to sort their crap defence. (They already had 2 quality forwards in Cunha and Larsen). Would he have been given any money with us at that time to bring in anyone? Certainly not in the short term.

Obviously made up that we're absolutely nowhere near the relegation equation and were basically safe within three weeks of Moyes' return, we just didn't know it yet.

The main thing that needs to change, which he'll know, is adding goals to the side from all midfielders and getting a more rounded 15-goal-a-season striker in.

Minutes of Everton being in a positive goal difference this entire season: 0.
