The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Been disappointed with Ipswich tbh, watched a bit of them through the Championship and League 1 and they looked a decent team who tried to play in the right way, but some poor signings this season and it really hasn't happened for them, McKenna has looked lost in certain games, all a bit too much for him and them.

A bit like Burnley last season. Too naive

Luton. I do give them credit for sticking with him though.

Saints and Foxes made massive mistakes with their managers. They should have went for someone experience. Even Big Sam would have done a better job than Ruud and that Janic fella.

Your giving too much credit to Dyche

Dyche had 17 points in 19 games
3 wins. 8 draws. 8 defeats - We scored 15 & conceded 25

Moyes has won 21 points in 13 games
5 wins. 6 draws. 2 defeats - We have scored 19 & conceded 13

More about giving Moyes the credit that he deserves for finding the way out so quickly, only Vitor Pereira did the same with having to fix the defense, while Moyes had to fix a terrible offense.

West Ham, Man United and Leicester got worse with the manager's change. Can't really judge Southampton tbf.

I'm happy Ipswich are going back down , that McKenna seems a bit of a tosser to me , loves himself that one

….i think he was courted by United at one point.

Problem with Managers like him is they don’t know how to set a newly promoted team to be hard to beat. They think they can play the same way as got them promoted.

A big problem, and also to make the mental switch, you are getting points in 75% of the games in the championship to 25% in the PL. First of all, it's about finding an idea without the ball, and making your team effective with the low use of ball.

Playing like for example Southampton is a joy for teams that come with a much better quality and just wait to expose the way. I believe they scored 23 goals while conceding 20 goals from individual mistakes.

I think that's what Brentford and Fulham did much better for example and why they became mid-table teams for several seasons now with the same manager that got promoted.
