The logical side of my brain tells me who I root for tonight has absolutely no bearing on what the result will be, but I also know I could never forgive myself if I rooted for Leicester, and it prompted a miracle winning run that ended up relegating us. So I just can't do it.

100%. They hired him because he beat them a couple of times with United. I think they overestimated how difficult beating them actually is.
Just be thankful they never took Moyes. Who knows who we’d have ended up with.
