He can be as Marxist as he likes in my book. No problem for me if he opposed Brexit. But he drives the party down the central reservation and inevitably gets hit by traffic from all directions. He could have been a bartender...

Fixed.....

Is he going down the central reservation, though?

His opponents want a second referendum - which is fine, but please explain to me how one could come about and be run properly with the Tories still in Government?

His priority this far has been to seek a general election which the Tories will keep on opposing, as Turkeys don't vote for Christmas. Every chance to come down in parliament in favour of clear support for a second referendum on the deal that there is had been scuppered by mealy-mouthed spherical objects - Jeremy Corbyn opposed calls for a peoples' vote until two events changed everything: Labour conference adopted a motion in support of a second referendum in September 2018 and then a number of centrist MPs split with the party in February 2019 to form The Independent Group / Change UK - another pointless distraction which was a reaction to his leadership. The party's position in the European election was to face both ways. Even now he does not know what he is doing. And meanwhile the softer tories are panicking for their seats and lining up behind the blonde monster, rather than taking a cross-party approach to prevent a catastrophe. IN my view, Corbyn's consistent political judgments on the key issue of the last few years demonstrate why he was a back bencher for so long. And don't get me started on leaving the party of equality and anti-racism so tainted with anti-semitism.

A second referendum doesn't just require one vote in Parliament though - it would require a Bill to be passed and then the government to manage it. Do you think its plausible that this government would do that?

Also, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Labour under Corbyn did actually vote for a second referendum nearly (bar one SNP-led proposal) every time it came up. They also voted for the two amendments (Boles and Clarke's) that would have allowed Brexit but with either a customs union / SM membership that would have passed but for Lib Dem / TIG opposition.

Finally, Labour's position was not to face both ways. Labour's position was to point out that such a distinction is false, that many of the people who vote leave and who vote remain have the same problems, the same grievances and the same needs. Of course, the people who foster this division didn't like it.

I don't want to argue with you. I want to argue with Pete.... ;)

Playing at politics....incredible isn’t it. The country is on its knees and those who are in a position to possibly do something about it are ‘Playing at politics’.

Not just the people who are in a position to do something about it, but the people that have caused it in the first place.

Of course he'll get blamed - otherwise, people who decided that opposing Corbyn was more important than opposing Brexit or even opposing the bloody Tories would have to blame themselves.
People get what they vote for, my conscience is clean, it's been Corbyn all the way for me. Others can take their responsibility and keep it thankyou very much. Any effective opposition is now off the field, and for Corbyn it's only a matter of time before he is PM.

But the press barons won't let that happen.
