I don't think the media / press come out of this smelling of roses either. They've been drip-feeding this information for weeks now, just enough to sell their papers, create a few headlines and there's always talk of some more pictures/videos/emails to come. It's time someone stopped treating it all as a game and release all that's known in one go. Hopefully it'll be enough to finish this bellend once and for all.
Careful what you wish for. This lot can push it a couple more years with a new leader and win yet again. Can’t see the turkeys voting for Xmas in February

You know, the government could fess up to the various parties and gatherings that have taken place rather than try and firstly deny any did and then try and brush them aside as an irrelevance. The papers exist to sell papers, but it is Downing Street that is in the wrong for actually having the parties in the first place, and the government that is wrong for continuing to lie about them.

To me this is a bit like Al Capone where we are ignoring huge issues and nailing him for the smallest one.

I don't give a rats about them having parties at number 10, they were risking their own safety, he should be thrown out of office for all the incompetent stuff that has had major knock on effects to the people.
For me the health and safety of the parties is probably irrelevant. It's that Johnson has lied and lied about them, and got his ministers to do likewise. Obviously most of us knew he was a lying piece of [Poor language removed], which is why we didn't back him, but hopefully these episodes are convincing some of those who did of the fact.

Folks it's your country and your PM but this is incredible. As posted elsewhere if our Taoiseach was allowing this he would be gone.

I am not a monarchist, and Phillip was hardly the nicest bloke. But for this to go on Downing Street the eve of his funeral beggars belief.

No one with any interest in Johnson, and the cabal he has always assembled, is not in the least surprised.

Big problem with all this rule breaking from those in power, is that it’s completely strips them of any moral authority.

The one good thing about Covid, is that it’s been a relatively low mortality rate, somewhere between 0.5 and 1%. What happens if a new variant changes that to 10%, or 20%? Highly unlikely of course, but not impossible. If the government then tried to bring in any new lockdown type measures, no-one is gonna follow them, and you cant blame them. The gov could implement laws, and sure, people would end up in legal trouble, but they’ve got no moral authority to instruct people on new restrictions, and that’s a problem.

I know what you're saying mate and I agree in principle, but the Prime Minister of a previously stable and respected global influencer is a malignant narcissist, pathological liar and a reckless populist who is trashing every aspect of British life and our international reputation. I'll take it, I just want him out.

In that instance people would be too scared to go out. As it is many of those of us younger don't feel a threat from it

Are you saying there would be no police presence in Downing Street if it had a Labour incumbent?
