It’s a kind of living death though.
Sport is supposed to be uplifting and inspirational.
It is supposed to provide an escape from the dreary grind of daily life not a mirror image of it.
In order to survive , this club has shrunk itself small enough to hide in the cracks of the PL cowering in endless fear.
We promise ourselves that tomorrow we will be brave while squandering our today’s.
And tomorrow never arrives.
We are fading away from the game , increasingly irrelevant and inconsequential to the competition we take part in .
If you want uplifting and inspirational, modern football is dead to you. The fact is, whoever you support, you feel shafted. Villa fans aren't happy at ticket prices, forced movement of season tickets, and increased corporate hospitality.
Realistically how can we ever be a major force in world football. As the number of Americans owning top flight clubs, the more chance we have of them voting for a closed shop premier league, separate from the pyramid.
The financial restrictions on clubs have almost cememented the current positions. Even if you have owners willing to spend, no one is willing to spend. The average price of a premier league player, not some superstar, is now £25m It's impossible to improve and play within the rules from our standing positions.
Its a sorry system, and we are all screwed.
But at least we have Dyche at the reign and
Moyes in reserve
