Andrew ‘The Clobberer’ Ranken. Founder member and drummer with the Pogues, aged 73. Another one of the band gone.
James van der Beek off of Dawson Creek has curled his toes, aged 48. Sad as he had a large young family.
Seemed a decent sort and gave plenty dealing with cancer inspiration and camaraderie, RIP

We have a family friend who used to work in media in New York for NBC. I remember her once saying that James van der Beek was one of the favorite celebrities that she interacted with. Just a genuinely kind, thoughtful person. RIP
Not enough nice people in the world, much less the celebrity world. Sat next to a movie producer on a flight and she said, “Don’t meet your heroes… except for Tom Hanks*..”
Glad to hear JVdB was a nice guy.
*I’ve read from others that maybe Hanks isn’t a nice guy, so what do I know.
