The New(ly) Dead Thread

Great part she played in that although she was rather abusive to Basil ,we can laugh if its a woman hitting a man but couldn't do it with Basil hitting Sybill

….yep, and different times, Sue.

I thought her comic timing was perfect, can’t help laughing re-watching some of those scenes which is a lovely legacy for anybody to leave.

I stumbled across the canal series some time ago and really enjoyed it. Guess I'll be watching an episode tonight with my very own "little box of vipers" Mrs B.

Say Hello, Wave Goodbye to the great Dave Ball.

I have a thing for synth wizards: Ron Mael, Dave Ball, Vince Clarke, Chris Lowe...

The male electropop duo is so perfect for perv pop, even when it isn't remotely pervy at all. With songs like Sex Dwarf and albums called This Last Night In Sodom, I think we can make an exception for Soft Cell.

Bedsitter is genius. All of their top five hits were...

They reinvented Torch Music and you’re right about Bedsitter.

I can remember doing a whole English lesson on the lyrics - we had a very good and progressive teacher.

Scales was much more than Sybil Fawlty. I remember our family tuning in to Marriage Lines in the early 60s. It was very popular and dealt with young marrieds played by Scales and Richard Briers. The Good Life was a strong reminder of that series later on with Richard Briers.
She was successful in Mapp and Lucia also.

I first saw her as one of the daughters in the film Hobson's choice.

Watched a sort of Tales of the Unexpected drama last night which featured Prunella Scales and Brian Cox - set in a hotel ! Much better than said Tales, Mrs Scales getting her kit off, and definitely up to no good with regards to the sauna room. Also, what appears to be an appearance from Nigel 'I'm not a racist' Farage.
