Player Valuation: £60m
How much of it is left at this stage ?

As Evertonians we owe him a large debt for what he did for our club in his time here. I think he spoiled his legacy a little by his behaviour while leaving Everton and certainly during his time at Utd, but overall he had a huge influence(positive) on the club .

We are now at a stage where there are a lot of players brought to the club by RM, a number of youngsters have been brought into the team by RM even though they were at the club or brought to the club in the Moyes era and of course there still are a good number of established players from his time.

Are we at a stage when we can talk about the Everton of RM without having to refer back to David Moyes and where he brought us to ?

the losing, small time, petty like attitude is diminishing thank fook. Not trying to knock the guy, but i think he'd have happily seen the sale of stones for about £35m. His quotes of not stopping a player move to a better team are a bit poor, must be said. It's not really in the best interests of our club.

I feel we have more chance of beating the top clubs now and we're heading in the right direction, especially with the youth players coming through.

He was what we needed at the right time but stayed four years more than he should have, and belittled us during that period then him his new position trying to buy our players.

He will be afforded a sound reception when he returns from time to time but great Everton managers win stuff and believe that Everton should be winning stuff, neither of which applied to him.

Unbelievably important for Everton FC.

Created every piece of the foundation, and established a ramp from where we were able to compete without the finances (work-ethics, buy cheap, sell expensive). All in all, a pragmatic man with business sense.

However, he had a lot of tactical shortcomings, and a minority complex.
The minority complex has since vanished after Martinez' arrival.
But: Martinez could never have taken over unless we had
a) The foundation of Moyes (squad, mentality, togetherness) and
b) the new TV-deal which enables us to hold on to players (Moyes never really had that luxury).

Both good men, and I think we are lucky to have had at the time.
Moyes was never going to bring us above 5th place (except his one time, at band camp...)
Martinez probably won't either, but he lacks the inhibitions of Moyes, which might turn out to be a very good thing in the current climate....

Hopefully not much.

We no longer need a negative influence over us when our new boss believes we're bigger than that. We're no longer fending off wolves at the door, instead we're becoming the confident lid who's got his best shoes on and is going to town on the pull.

He's shaken off his lack of confidence and has found his self belief.

The school of pulling, it's on it's way back.

Without David Moyes would we be one of 7 clubs never to be relegated from the Premier League? I doubt it very much, so on that count alone we should be very grateful. I'm not sure what happened at the end and his year at MU was a disaster, but for me, he maintained us as a Premier Club which given the resources available throughout his tenure was no little achievement.

Best leaving present ever...
