i think those people at Sky Sports make it sound like Arsenal got Player of the Decade didnt help. Certainly after a night sleep, I'm more convinced that it was the right time for 'Our Tater' to move on. And good luck to him too!

I was gutted last night about Arteta but now come to terms with it so to speak and thought back at how he has been playing for us lately, which hasn't been too great tbh and now gives chance for others to step in like Barkley, Osman or Bily, I think this will be the last chance for Bily to shine. I think it was the right time for Arteta to leave, we got some good cash for him and the way he has been playing of late that price could of tumbled by next year plus maybe no one would come in for him. At least he didn't go a few years back when he was playing great now that would of pi$$ed us off more!

I wish him well and will keep an eye out to see how he's getting on, I normally fast forward MOTD til we are shown lol but now i'll watch a few Arsenal highlights to see how he's getting on. I don't blame him for leaving, he's not getting any younger and was probably his only chance of maybe fulfilling his dream of Champions league and possibly for his home Nation for Spain.

Plus we have two new players which i think none of us were expecting at all, so that was a great suprise! Will help team morale i'm sure, plus we needed them. Imagine if we got nobody and with Arteta leaving our morale would be rock bottom. I can't wait to see Drenthe skin some players with his skills n pace, i watched him when he played for the u21's and was awesome, lets hope this move and under Moyes will get the best out of him. I know we don't know much about Denis but im sure he'll love the crosses from Baines if he was top scorer in the Argie league then he must have something, lets hope he is!

I was gutted last night...hell I spent about 2 hours hitting refresh on the GOT forum site so I could whine.

But a stiff whiskey (cheap canadian swill, not that fancy british isles crap) and a poor nights sleep has me feeling a little better. We played well without him the last couple of years that he was injured...BUT...our key central lads need to stay healthy. There's no room for error and guys like Rodwell need to step it the f up. He needs to show what the fuss over him is all about.

If Fellaini and Rodwell can stay healthy all year, I think we'll be alright. If they go down like they seem to far too often, then we're going to be fighting to stay up.

One last point on people saying that Arteta deserves a chance for trophies....

He HAD a chance here for trophies. He's the bloody #10. Its on him as much as anyone. Is our Keep, our back line good enough for CL? I say yes. Its our midfield thats been the problem and he's obviously key there. So I don't get all glossy eyed hoping he gets what he's always wanted, blah blah blah. He had the chance for Europe here and it didn't happen and he's as much to blame as anyone.

That said, he's always been one of my favorites and its sad to see him go.

Depressing, no doubt. But three of those teams will be playing in the Championship next year, and I don't believe Everton will be one of them.

The thing about Arteta going is our style will change but that isn't a totally awful thing. We become more direct and use our actual wingers to ping balls in for this new tall lad, Cahill etc. It won't be pretty but I can see the new lads fitting into a more effective Everton team.

Sad to see Mikel go, but there's no way we can say no to that fee for a player on the slide. Jagielka should have been shipped out too in all honesty for the same reason, but I guess the big fee never materialised. It's worrying though, Arteta's creativity was ****e all last season but it still feels like all our play goes through him. Hopefully Leon can get the job done.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but the half season Mikel came back from the injury he was fkin awesome. It was only the season after (last one) where he really started to stink the place out. Anyhow, hope he does well at the Arse - should slot right in.

I don't think we'll be relegated, but we'll miss some creativity in the midfield. However, if the wages saved go to securing the futures of players like Baines, Fellaini and Jagielka then I cannot complain.

We need to move on now, its time for a new era at Goodison Park. And if its anywhere as near as good as when Rooney left then I believe that we are going to have some good 6 years ahead of us with the emergence of Rodwell and Barkley.
