Player Valuation: £40m
Ok slept a bit and I now feel that the deadline day was not as catastrophic as it seemed.

We got rid of players that Moyes didn't want to fit in his system (Yak/Becks) and Arteta who wanted to leave. While we all do know the quality of Mikel, it's fair to say he didn't seem to be that well motivated for us lately, he's been away for half the games in the past two seasons and our win% with him has been poorer than without him. His corners and freekicks have been really bad, and also his creativity has been acking. That said, I'm sure he well do great upon a new challenge at Arsenal.

The rumoured fees we got were less that expected, that's true. And we didn't have time to get a replacement for Mikky. I know you hate this, but our bank balance is a lot healthier now and also a lot of wages were freed.

Getting loans in instead of permanent signings is not the best we've hoped, but I'm pretty sure we can manage to get Drenthe in for a signing fee and if that Argie makes it he'll be quite cheapish too. No need for expensive flops at the moment, really.

Looking at our playing options, I think we look more frightening than before yesterday.

Some smarter chap can suggest better lineups, also putting a lot of hope on The Argie. If Drenthe can put in balls, we can utilize the likes of Cahill better.

I also hope we can strenghten our side in January, some permanent signing(s) and maybe Donovan again on loan.

We might not win the league, but I can't see us doing worse than last season.

Ahh, some optimism.

We cant do anything about it now so we have to move on. Everton Football Club will still function and Moyes does his best when there is a "backs to the wall" mentality.

Lets move on and support the lads as we always do.

The lines ups above could be ace if Denis is any good!!

Was hoping to awake to a Fellaini type deal.

The Mikel deal went to the wire for a reason, so we couldn't spend it, no other.

The money will be either taken by the bank (as opposed to IN the bank) or on it's way to the Br. Virg. Islands, WE WILL NOT SEE A SOV. OF IT IN JAN.

That's the sickener more than anything. Could live with losing our most creative player if we could reinvest in the squad, but this will just pay debts.

i know we all want to improve our team we good players but IF the bank took all the transfer money we got yesterday so be it because we were in such financial **** according to all the reports over the last few weeks that the dam was going to burst somewhere ....so this has t a massive weight off our clubs shoulders ??????

throw in the fact you rarely ever get good value / good players in the january window

so why blow all the money we have just got in for the sake of saying " we are busy in the transfer market"

look at the bright side, Osman can be really creative given the right opportunity, he played well towards the end of last season because he was really enjoying his football, now he will get more chances to get time of the pitch wth Arteta gone. Drenthe has pace on the wing and when Gueye's fully fit he would give us a creative edge in attack to get balls through to Squidward. Plus with Barkley looking promising and Rodwell looking to find form again this should be a good season, top 6 finish I rekon maybe 5th COYB!!!

Okay fair enough but what we have freed up from wages will account for next years plus a little something from the kitty should give Moyes ten million plus.

Arteta made it clear he wanted to leave, on transfer deadline day. He has not been the same player since his injury and is on 70k a week as our top earning player, he wasn't delivering value for money at a skint club. In the position he plays were stocked with allegedly good players and we've been playing him out of past glories rather than form.

Taking all that into account it was a good piece of business, if we got that money to reinvest on other players and time to do so. But we won't see any of that money and we didn't have time to sign replacements so it's pissed me off.

I wonder if we could've kept Beckford if we would've sold Arteta first. Do we pay 52 times the weekly wages? If so, we're saving 9m £ (-loan players) now on salaries, so I think we will operate on the January market.

What is very optimistic is we atually signed a striker who seems to be on top form 9 goals in 10 games is a great scoring record, includiding a hat trick against Boca and if i'm not mistaken was the golden boot winner in Argentina last season.
