I have to be honest: I did not want City to win that game today. I acted like I did ... but I really didn't. I do not like City. I hate the RS and all but ... cheering for City? I wanted a tie ... when the RS won I felt a bit sick at the end ... and I had to mute the TV at one point (you know when) ... but all in all it doesn't really anger me as much as I would have thought it would.

I obviously can't cheer for the RS ... but I can't bring myself to cheer for City or Chelsea and in a way it's like not cheering for that lot's title race opponents seems like a tacit endorsement of the RS and makes me feel ill. This is really not a good situation.

I'll be furious if they win the league and we miss out on fourth ... that would be a nightmare. But us fourth and they win the title? I know they'll be horrendous to deal with but it just doesn't upset me as much as it "should" on paper.

If they can win the title ... the team we finished above the last two years, a team with more money than us but not Man City more money ... if they could win the title ... it kind of makes it seem like we could too right? Next year is our year and all. Merseyside?!?!?!?

I don't know ... the first insufferable RS I bump into might change my mind but right now ... I really can't cheer for City or Chelsea and what they represent about football.

But how can I not want City or Chelsea to win? (Aside from the 0.001% chance we have of winning the league of course.)

If they win though ... the bantz ... ::shudder::. ... and the media? Ugh. It will be pretty hideous.

The only conclusion I have come to is that we *have* to get fourth. I have heard people say fifth and a record points total in Bobby's first year would be great and they'd be happy with that. It would ... that is undeniably true ... but it's also somehow both true and wrong. We *have* to get fourth or this will just be untenable.

If we get fourth I don't think I care who wins the title ... and that's kind of bizarre considering what might happen.

being in town today made me realise just how bad it would be if they won the league.... kopites everywhere singing they are going to win the league, with their kids dressed exclusively in RS merchendise.... and the gloating will just never end, even if we get 4th.... it isn't worth it.

Jose will sort them out regardless and we can go back to getting 4th without the media/referees/defenders falling over themselves to give liverpool the trophy

I want Chelsea to hand them their arses, then a panoramic view of their ground and see them all dragging their chins, close ups of Dalgleish, Aldo, Rush and the rest of the bad teds that have creeped out from behind their monthly pieces in four four two!

Incidently their faith has nothing to do with ours and it's mildly annoying that everyone (media) links the two!

I was gutted in the pub today after they won and that was only a small reminder of what it will be like if they actually win it.

I think it's a strange season this year (although by far the best season I've ever exeprienced). If Liverpool win it I can see them going on and becoming the next Man United, but if they don't I can't see them having another crack at it for a long while.

Are you going to post this on every non everton thread in the forum?

There's one in the ale house about crimea you can add it it to.

Everyone is worried about Liverpool, so what? The season isn't even over yet, and Jose can troll out a 1-0 victory against offensive teams as well as anyone in the world. If we were playing for the 7th place trophy, them winning it would be the ultimate suck. This year though, I'm going to enjoy what we are doing. Plus, silver linings, maybe City won't have anything to play for the last match of the season because us going undefeated in the run up to that match isn't going to be easy.
