I've always found it interesting that in the UK Dance scene the DJ's use their normal full names to represent themselves. And in the dance scene I'm into (psychedelic) the DJ's use ethereal artiste names, like Ommadawn, Derango, Psykovsky, CPC, Dronebixie, Kalilaskov AS, Zolod, Gandalf, Dejavu Love and the like.

Not sure what it means, just an observation. Maybe the more underground scenes prefer the anonymity whereas the more mainstream scenes thrive on the celebrity of the DJ.
