I think fines in amateur football are generally a good idea. Depending on the severity of the incident.

If you get booked for shirt pulling you shouldn't have to pay £16 but if you get booked for arguing with the ref I think you probably should have to pay a fine.

It was an outrageous tackle, to be fair, I should have been sent off so I can't really complain.

One of their players jumped in two footed on our smallest player so next time he got the ball it bounced and I went in at waist height at full speed. Took the ball and only caught him a bit but I was in the air for about 30 seconds so yeah, miracle I wasn't sent off really.
