I don't think I could do extra hours, especially that many extra hours unless I was getting something out of it.

Well, was when I was involved in that world.
Because the company I work for pay me well enough to warrant working above and beyond, plus the share options I've been granted mean I'll be potentially able to retire before I'm 40 if they mature enough in that period.
Goldman Sachs are tough clients, not as tough as Morgan Stanley, but it's not forever..

Been doing it for 10 years now, i'd probably be bored if i came home 2 hours earlier every day. Obviously the extra moneys good compared to a shorter week.
I'm public sector so as long as I do my 35 im sound, but I hate it. I get decent holidays and i'm on a really good starter wage, but i'd sooner work longer hours, have less holidays and earn £5k less to enjoy my job
