Rachmaninov's Second Symphony (his third got its premier in the Liverpool Philharmonic on Hope Street, conducted by Rachmaninov.

Elgar's Nimrod Variations ( Land of Hope and Glory, again, premiere at the Liverpool Philharmonic).

That's right, Land of Hope and Glory was first played here.

Not classical as such.. But " Champions " from the film Champions.. The BBC use it for the Grand National... Cracking piece of music that.
