Saturday Superstore was boss..... it had the Mike Reid who never said 'RICKY' in a faux Nik accent... i also have a very sad story to tell about the show, I had a cousin called chris....bit older than me, about a year...born and brought up overlooking the dockyards in Birkenhead, anyways.... Chris won a competition on SS by sending in his postcard and his card getting picked out of the rafle type thing.... all good...he won a massive crayola set worth quite a few quid back in them days,,early 80's....so chris , who now lived in holywell decided to set off on his bike to share his good news with a friend of his but sadly never made the journey after an accident on said bike threw him to the road and the poor lad died in hospital in Liverpool a week later having never come out of his coma..... so that's my sad story............FECK YOU SATURDAY SUPERSTORE FFS.

sh*t, bad times mate

Long time ago now mate,,, i think i was 11 and he was 12 at the time........yeah sad times i suppose but loads of good memories of my early visits and holidays in Birkenhead ( mad as that sounds )...

Ha Ha,,, where I live is beautiful but growing up we never really had much and holidays were a rarity so even getting to Birkenhead to see family once a year was like a foreign visit to a ( then ) 8 year old kid ffs.

New Brighton and Port Sunlight are still magical places in my minds eye lol.
