Labour need to put out a very simple narrative regarding brexit. It’s difficult but they need a message with as little ambiguity as possible. Gonna have to nail their colours to the mast here or they’ll get pumped.

Nor should you. I think the deal with the LD’s and SNP has been done. They both know that they will pick up Labour seats anyway so have no need to help Labour......

If the LDs and SNP have done a deal with this government, it will be Labour picking up seats not the them.

Not really. Students in University towns won several seats last time, having the election after the term ends was a fairly clear ploy by the Government to minimise the Labour vote.

One would imagine we will now see amendments brought to try and change the date / allow younger voters.

Then why didn't he plow behind the SNP/Lib Dem amendment at the first opportunity or, better yet, lead and do it himself if he'd identified that as a concern.

they also need to go full on about johnson/ress mogg not being on your side....rees mogg is a bit of a gift for labour

Merely pointing out that the Tories have had three years to sort out the mess they’ve made and failed to do so would probably be enough. It is simple and truthful.

Because the SNP / LD Bill was for a bad date, if Labour were going to back it they’d probably have wanted January

Are folks still going on about the younger voters who I presume would be against leaving the EU?
All those elderly voters no longer here and universally accepted as being likely to vote leave. Any second referendum nailed on for a remain victory.

Because he’s been dragged kicking and screaming to the point we are now. I would guess that he personally wanted an election, but a great deal of his party didn’t, hence where we are......

He is a coward, pure and simple. His MP’s are scared to death about fighting a GE with Corbyn at the head. Those heady summer months of ‘oh Jeremy Corbyn’ against an introverted and useless Theresa May have long gone. Now he’s up against a man who won two London Mayor elections and who led the Leave campaign to victory. Boris is no May and Corbyn and co are crapping themselves......

In case you missed it.

Tightening sphicters from Tories and Liberals once we head into Election Purdah period...

That is a good shout, as the SNP definitely didn’t want an election during a period when their old boss gets dragged through the mire......
