What do you mean by 'proper job' and in what context?

As in a serious adult full time job that supports themselves or their families. Instead they are all either students, unemployed or somewhere in between with part time jobs.

Over the last year or two the average age of my constituency party has gone from say 50 to 25. That's good of course in one sense but the oldies holding up the average age don't turn up for most regular party meetings so the average age for votes is say about 21. That's a problem when a majority don't have any experience of independent adult.life.

And would you say the majority of these unemployed people are so as a lifestyle choice? Or perhaps the consequences of austerity bearing in mind their age at the time the tory government were elected?
The demographic is indicative of many things but not some Marxist infiltration or conspiracy.

I legit had to DuckDuckGo Quinoa, and it looks disgusting.

I agree though, the Labour Party needs to start pushing working class politicians into positions of real power. Part of doing that is reselection at local level.

Not democracy, you cannot be serious, you know the centre ground of the population prefers nepotism and cronyism, seriously local people voting for their local candidates. All the serfs and plebs need to learn thier place right now. ;)

Won't you look at that, the most disaffected individuals of society coming together to politicise their troubles as best to find a democratic solution - how dare they! </sarcasm>

In seriousness, snobbery like that is what has embittered so many people like myself. I hated the fact that when my family went on the bus, people would stare and jokingly ask my mother "no TV in your house then" or when I'd overhear people mutter "scrounger" under their breath. It devalues you as a human, and ultimately pickles into raw hatred unless you see hope.

I haven't got a telly, and haven't had one for about 6 years

@Bungle we need to an intervention here. Sold his TV to fund his steriod abuse.

It's a sorry state of affairs, you've got people like @Sapie88 donating their TV's to pisshead immigrants and Brucey here having to sell his to fund a terrible habit. Imagine the future he could have built for himself with the money from Saps TV, screwed over by the Russians again.

Calm down. When folk with no experience of real life put themselves on a pedestal to preach about dramatic changes to our laws that will impact on huge swathes of the population there is an issue.

I watch meetings where crap like Just nationalise virtually everything is debated like something from the emperor's new clothes.

We need a left of centre government. It needs to be rooted in pragmatism not idealistic 6th form politics.

We had center left under Blair, it led to deregulating financial sector, and left us more exposed to the ensuing financial crash in 2008 the consequences of that are still playing out. Not sure of 6th form but I don't want wet infantile centerists ruining the country more.
