It’s amazing this still happens. Studied and read Communism for years and still struggle with fully understanding it yet people just throw the term around when they don’t like something.

Starmer is a puppet, selling off Britain to anyone who bids. He doesn’t care about Britain - he just sees it as an economic zone.

Governments and big tech are buying/seizing farm land all over Europe and the US. It’s no coincidence that Labour have rolled out this policy within their first 5 months in power.

People who don’t read the detail laugh this off as conspiracy theory, but it’s happening, well documented by reputable media all over the west.

It’s why young people can’t afford houses, why we apparently ‘need’ mass immigration, why GDP is apparently more important than anything else, despite everything falling apart. The west is systematically being hollowed out on purpose by goblins like Starmer.

I’m feeling a little fuzzy this morning but in my limited knowledge that in no way translates to what I thought I understood to be communism .

From your post It also seems clear I don’t read the detail so I imagine that’s on me .

There's a lad I work with who is usually a Tory voter, but until recently was alright to debate with, quite a bright thoughtful fella.

Yet all of a sudden starts mindlessly labelling folk he disagrees with "woke communists" or "cultural marxists". Here I'm talking David Lammy or Angela Rayner. Or something in the edi policy at work from HR.

Ironically has a degree in history and politics.

I think maybe peoples brains are starting to rot. Too much Internet maybe.

Yeah it's the sound bite the right uses to towards liberals currently.

Your workmate likely listens to people like Jordan Peterson, Douglas Murray etc who often use the Marxism line to label the 'neo liberals' or whatever buzzword is getting used at the mo

Stems from Gramsci and the Frankfurt school of social theory and philosophy, but really wasn't addressing a lot of the identity politics that get labelled woke, which the label gets attached to today.

Probably stems from the Cold War US using the word as lazy shorthand for anything considered "Anti-American" that curbs freedoms etc. It became more associated with police states, autocracies and so on rather than the underlying economic framework.

I remember decades ago, maybe even the pre-broadband AOL days of the internet, some American in a chatroom tried to 'educate' me that because socialism led to communism, any one who considered themselves a socialist wanted a dictatorship. Ironically, I assume these days someone with such gifted political insights is a full on MAGA blowhard happily voting Trump in.
