I think Duffields resignation letter pretty well sums it all up. She will not be the only Labour MP who believes this. Starmer is an empty vessel, it worked in opposition, but the man hasn’t a clue how to run a government…it’ll all end in tears, for him, Labour and the country…TBH I’ve no need to even enhance on the letter I posted, it actually says it all……..

Is the same not true of all the people who spent the last 15 years pretending the Labour Party was holier than thou who are now burying their heads at the fact there is precious little difference in the two parties and that they are both just ambitious greedy folks who want power for powers sake and not do the good of the country.

No, I don't think so. I've commented on two posters who all of a sudden are very angry about the govt and "lefties" and predictably I found they had nothing to say over years of the very clear corrupt circus the previous govt had been. it's childish as I said.

Many of those who are being told they are burying their heads right now in this thread have actually on plenty of occasions been critical of the labour party and majority of them have said they don't particularly like them or the new PM. There's a lot of sniping between particular posters with history, but having read many of the posters on here for years I would imagine none of them would be interested in giving any staunch defense of the new govt. I doubt very much you'll find many posters who think they are holier than thou, sounds a bit of an exaggeration. Main thing I see is, it's early days give it time. Which seems entirely reasonable.

Nobody's going to disagree with your description of power hungry selfish politicians, but we have the system we have in most countries and the expectations still would be labour will do a lot more for the people in their time in power than the shower before who took things to impressive heights in regards to their corruption and self interest, whilst bringing the UK to new lows.

Personally, I think @davek hit the nail on the head in regards to Starter, he took a load of flak for it but it’s all coming true. Labour have blown it in just three months. Starmer has no political nous, and tbh does anyone actually know what he believes in other that spouting platitudes like rebuilding the foundations, which incidentally he’s doing his best to make an arse of…….

Lord Alli is gay therefore it’s assumed starmer must be gay as he’s a friend of his . I’m prepared to guess it’s absolute rubbish and part of the constant media campaign against him , it started gaining traction with Mike Graham on talk tv and even the guest Isabel oakeshott shot him down . Doesn’t stop it being perpetuated mind .
