“The Labour party’s cut to the Winter Fuel Allowance will kill around 4,000 pensioners this winter – according to the party’s own research.

Labour’s analysis, published during the 2017 general election campaign, warned that the Tories’ plans under then-PM Theresa May to cut the allowance for millions of pensioners would be deadly, leading directly to the deaths of around 4,000 people. Called ‘the single biggest attack on pensioners in a generation’, it combined with the Tories’ ‘dementia tax’ plans and Corbyn-led Labour’s spectacular and fully-costed manifesto and actual hope of meaningful change to almost put the Tories out of power.

Why is it only now you seem to care about cuts in the welfare state?

You’ve never piped up before, so why now is it such an important topic for you?

Not only did he not pipe up, he actively applauded it, suggested austerity wasn't that bad and was just people not able to buy ipads, laughed at people getting genuinely upset about the harm of austerity.

Peters found compassion in the way that Russell Brand has found God.

I’ve never supported any cuts to those that need support. This is no different. What is different is some on here making excuses for Starmer and Reeves, and some making jokes about it, just because it’s Labour doing it. Shameful really….
