I think they mean 'proper' socialist Labour people, not the Shy Red Tory Centrist Dads. Their votes don't count, apparently.
*come on someone start the centrist dad war.

I don't know how to start it, but I'll give it a go as your token forum representative of this election's media-fabricated demographic. (Someone should tell them it works better when you identify a demographic like "soccer moms"
after the election.)
Sure, I'm with you on regulation and tax-the-rich. I'm not with you on some aspects of social policy, and I probably don't want to pay off on every infrastructure project you want. Not that the nitty-gritty on that matters, since my votes are invariably wasted on moderate Democratic opposition to hard-right Republicans in Congress. They lose every time. Sort of like you, since Blair.
I imagine this makes me like the plastic portion of City or Chelsea support, from your perspective. A fairweather fan, who will move on to something else in a decade, unworthy of the crass pandering necessary to secure his vote.
I get it. You don't need me to put a metaphorical bullet into Sunak, and yet Starmer keeps chasing my vote. Starmer is like that [REDACTED] youth coach running up the score. You want him to display some principles, and play his kids out of position or something. This is true irrespective of whether your kid plays for or against him.
You know what? This is politics. Principles need not apply. If he can nail down +300 seats, should he not do this? Five years of locking seats down is an eternity in politics.
it doesn't matter whether Starmer is a Tory in Red clothing or a staunch progressive. He should always get the seats, then figure out what he can accomplish with them. Ignore the static of the election, judge him on what he does with a huge majority and respond accordingly.
