ffs come on Ba! Cheers for the update lcab. So hope I come in tomorrow and see 'We've signed Ba' on the homepage.

Or it could be that Kenwrong won't pay up for reasonable wages.

reasonable being obscenely high but not as obscenely high as others? 30-40k a week should be more than enough for a guy who has only had half a season in the league.. he needs to learn early on everton dont get held to ransom.

Heitinga walked into the team, and the league, on around 55K-60K a week if I recall correctly.

So your logic is a bit duff.

Here's hoping, doubtful though

Thing is, I think Johnny took a whopping 15k or so pay cut to join us, if I remember correctly

I'm defo getting Ba on my shirt next season. Cheap as.

Can see the sense in not wanting to pay sky high wages for a player who has failed 2 medicals. If thats what the hold up is.

Comparing Heitinga to Ba : /

Actually that's my point. If someone who is a defender and a utility player can get paid that here, then why not someone would be our first choice striker? Strikers are more important in the modern game.

Whilst I didn't know that, I think the point still remains, Al. Saha is on £60K a week, Yak's on £55K a week, LCAB said Ba's asking for nowhere near £75K as some have suggested, so his demands surely can't be that outrageous? And ultimately, we need a new striker more than we need £65K or £60K or whatever he's asking a week.

Yet again Saha is on £60K a week. Demba Ba's injury record isn't nearly as bad as Saha's. Even if it means getting rid of Saha, and giving his wage to Demba, I don't see how it should constitute a dealbreaker.

It wasnt an outrageous demand re ; wages , however , until tomorra I wont know WHAT the actual stumbling blocks - if any by then , remain ...

Since when has Saha been on 60k a week? That just doesn't make sense at all. When he signed he offered to take a pay as you play deal just to get fit and actually start playing football again, now all of a sudden he's the second highest earner in the team yet hardly plays a game? :S

He was offered a new contract a while back.

Once on here when I was calculating how much he'd cost us since he last scored (the time he had that barren 11 months) I estimated his wage and THT told me it was a lot higher than I thought. I believe he expressed it was around the £60K mark, yes. I'd be happy for LCAB/THT to confirm this or correct me, either way, but I'm fairly sure that's close.
