One of the best players on the pitch today and he's been solid since he's come into the side. I didn't think he had an attitude problem and I stand by that, I think his form was more down to niggling injuries and the position he was playing. That's not to say he wouldn't leave at the first oppurtunity, but I think Evertonian's would be surprised how many of our players would do a similar thing in his situation. We'll see on that one really.

I don't even think Heitinga is 6ft, he's even shorter than Jagielka, who's also on the smaller side for a centre back. They more than make up for it though. Both quality players, and whilst I'm also a big fan of Distin, he's 32, and I'd like to hope these lads are the future.

Despite being Distin's #1 fan -- seriously -- I have to admit that today, Heitinga was far better. Distin had an average game, poor even, by his high standards.

I have been coming round to Distin. Jags is way off the form that he showed a couple of seasons ago. Maybe a spell on the sidelines will refocus him to raise his level of performance? We definitely need competition for places.

have to say heitinga has had his best week of the season so far : making the right remarks + performing well.

id also say todays game was heitinga and distins best game as a pairing. same with fellaini and arteta , they just blended well today.

Hope I'm wrong - but it looked like Johnny was waving goodbye to the fans yesterday.

Good spot...but I've noticed he waits behind and applauds the fans at every home game. I too thought it was saying goodbye but he seems to do it every home match.

I swear yesterday that every 50/50 tackle he went in for ended up with him on the floor. Its not that he doesn't commit but he just often seems to come off second best.

He seems to 'slip' and fall over a lot too when someone he's supposed to be marking scores.
