No City fan will ever deny we got lucky. We had owner investment in total of over £1.5B.For that we have zero debt, fantastic facilities, a world class squad and he's sold stakes to a Chinese consortium and the latest was 10% to an American consortium for $500M, which values the holding coming who own City at over $4.5B. So not a bad investment. We've also been running at a profit for the last few years. Lets not forget Liverpool were a second division club until heavy investment by the Moores. Arsenal were a mid table side until Danny Friszman put in £50M which enabled them to hand improved contracts to Adams and other first teamers and bring in players like Berkamp. Blackburn? Jack Walker. Chelsea we all know about. Rags I've mentioned before, but what I've never mentioned is the three government hand outs they've had to redevelop Old Trafford. Did someone mention state funding? What about Leicester? Well Leicester have that many skeletons in their closet no one likes to talk about them. Like the fact they broke every FFP rule in the Championship to get promoted. All from outside investment. All I want to know is, when did they earn their trophies? Cos they got there in exactly the same way that we did.

Forget? You haven't got a clue what your you're talking about. Dickov's goal against Gillingham is up there with the Aguero moment. I was a season ticket holder when Frank Clarke was in charge, I've forgot nothing.

Slight reworking of history there.
Danny Fizsman bought his 1st stake in Arsenal in 1992 probably when he like other smart businessmen saw what was coming with the new sky deal.
Arsenal had just won the league in 1991 and came 4th when Leeds won the league in 92, on what planet is that mid table.
Granted they came 10th in 93 but that was, after the investment not before and they still did the cup double that season.

All other club forums are VERY bad.

Thats why they all come here.

I wouldn't say all of them are bad but they've changed .
When a lot of forums started they were like extension of fanzines and pub banter but now quite a few feel like Twitter, very reactionary, very aggressive .
It's very easy to get sucked into it as well.

I would glady see Everton do a city and start winning trophies and put the RS in our shade

Bring it on Uncle Usmanov

Take it up with Tony Adams. He clearly says in his autobiography that it was until Fiszman made his investment that he and other got their first decent contracts. Without it, they would have been off.

You said Arsenal was a mid table club in 1992, do you accept thats a load of balls or not..
taking out a quote from a 2011 interview and cobbling it together with your own opinion...Come on.
Not once does he call Arsenal a mid table club

I know you probably gleaned all this stuff from Prestwich Blue on Twitter.

Love the use of "he was told", that's up there with "Sky Sports understands"
The idea that Arsenal bought The league in 1998 is laughable.
Comparing where Arsenal were in 1997 to City pre Shinawatra and ADUG is a stretch by anyone's imagination.
I don't care whether you bought the league or not(by the way you did) .

FYI the value of £50m in 1992 is £89m in 2020

So you accept the rest, just that Arsenal weren't "mid table" Pretty much everything else you couldn't find fault with. So you have no actual argument about the rest of my post, in that all clubs have had outside investment. I must say, I'm impressed with the cherry picking. It's like when everyone says Liverpool are the best premier league side ever whilst hoping everyone forgets the team that got 100 points and then did the impossible treble the year later[sic]
Can't see that tweet, if it's from PB it's because I'm blocked. So doubtful I got anything from him. He's a humourless fantasist, but he does know a lot about the club and more about FFP than any journalist.
